# Zik

> A no-code workspace for artists and writers making visual novels, interactive stories and story-driven 2D/2.5D games.

## Availability

Zik is in private alpha. New registrations are currently closed. Existing invited accounts can sign in. No public release date, pricing or store-distribution availability is announced.

## Authoring

The editor targets desktop computers in a web browser. Authors write dialogue and paragraphs, add choices and endings, stage backgrounds and characters, and attach music to story moments. Relationships, items and consequences can affect later choices without authored code or manual node wiring. Layered artwork and bounded camera motion provide 2.5D staging.

## AI assistance

Zik is developing a managed writing and image assistant. The private-alpha pilot proposes changes for author review and explicit acceptance; accepted edits can be undone. Provider-model quality and artist acceptance are still being tested. Optional local MCP support is a separate connection for an author's own agent. This does not promise hosted browser MCP or runtime AI in exported games.

## Independent games

Standalone web exports carry accepted story content and media; readers do not need a Zik account or AI connection. Phone, tablet and desktop playback are product targets; broad physical-device verification remains in progress. Native Android, iPhone and desktop delivery is in development and is not a claim of app-store publication or operation.
